5 Easy Ways to Use AirPlay to Stream Videos to Your TV
AirPlay, Apple’s wireless streaming technology, comes built into the new Apple TV and iOS devices, but it can also be used to stream media from your Mac or Windows PC to your TV. This can be extremely useful if you have an Apple TV and want to watch Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube, or any other content from your desktop computer or laptop on your TV instead of your computer monitor. Here are five easy ways to use AirPlay to stream videos from your computer to your TV.
1) Apple Wireless Pro Keyboard
One of the most convenient ways to stream videos to your TV is to use AirPlay. This option is only available on iOS devices and it’s fairly easy to use:
– Click on the video you want to watch and then click AirPlay in the menu bar that pops up; this will bring up a list of devices on your wireless network which can stream your video – choose the device you wish to stream it onto, whether it be an Apple TV or your TV via a streaming box.
2) Apple Wireless Mouse
While AirPlay is most commonly used to stream music, you can also use it to wirelessly stream videos from your computer or iOS device.
Open up iTunes, click on your device and choose File > Devices > Send Video to Apple TV. To view your videos on your TV, you’ll also need a second Apple device connected via HDMI or optical audio. With that done, you can start streaming! The same process can be used with pictures too, so if you want some snaps of your holiday on display in your living room – it’s possible!

Then, you open the video and use the AirPlay controls in the menu bar at the top of your screen. Just select AirPlay on the display icon, then select your TV name that should pop up in a list of devices. You can also change playback settings in the Settings App > General > AirPlay mirroring.
4) Roku Streaming Stick
If you have a streaming stick, you can stream video from the internet to your TV using AirPlay. You’ll need to set up your Apple TV and set it to mirroring mode before you can go through this process. There are also free and paid apps available in the app store that let you mirror to your TV screen as well. All of these will provide a similar experience for watching content on your TV.
#1 Stream any YouTube video – When connected to WiFi, just open the YouTube app on your iPhone or iPad and search for whatever video you want to watch, then hit the AirPlay button when prompted at the bottom of the screen. The video will be sent wirelessly from your device onto your television.
