One of the first titles you’ll be able to stream will be Cruella, starring Emma Thompson as Cruella De Vil, which was released in 1996, and inspired by the 1961 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith, who also wrote 101 Dalmatians in 1956. Although both movies are not directly related to each other in plot or character development, some resemblances can be found between the two films.

Why I like this movie

I saw Cruella for the first time on Hulu and I loved it. I don’t have a subscription to Disney Plus, but now I can watch the whole thing for free starting on August 27th. Disney+ is releasing a teaser of the film that will be playing at Comic-Con 2019 in San Diego this weekend too! It’s been a while since we’ve seen Cruella make her sadistic desires very public. If you liked 101 Dalmatians, then this movie is worth streaming!

This movie was my favorite by far in 101 Dalmatians! It is filled with delightful characters and it is definitely worth watching. You get to see Cruella be pretty funny, but she has her moments of truly being a monster. I know a lot of people who were scared by hearing Cruella’s song Stay Away. So if you want a good scare along with your comedy, then go watch 101 Dalmatians. And now you can watch it all week long on Disney+!

Starting on August 27th, you’ll be able to watch Cruella for free on Disney Plus! The film will be available as a part of the ‘Walt Disney Archives subscription package, which comes with streaming access to classic and live-action Disney films.
