Thor: Love and Thunder - The Movie We've Been Waiting For

Thor: Love and Thunder – The Movie We’ve Been Waiting For

Thor was the first Marvel Love and Thunder movie to be released after the record-breaking Avengers. The film was directed by Kenneth Branagh and starred Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman as the lead characters Thor and Jane Foster, respectively. It had an incredible cast of supporting actors including Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, and Stellan Skarsgård as Fandral amongst others.

What it’s about

We have been waiting for this movie to come out and Thor: Love and Thunder finally graces our television screens. In the highly anticipated sequel, Thor is ready to embrace a simpler life without the crown, until more questions about his past continue to surface and new responsibilities are thrust upon him.

When Einarr shares his shocking discovery with Thor he learns that he is right, but cannot allow Jane to learn the truth about her adoptive father’s identity. The two-disc Blu-ray+ Digital Copy comes with a free second disc that includes deleted scenes from Thor: Love and Thunder as well as plenty of extras (we’ll list them here).

Why it works

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! Wait, no, it’s Chris Hemsworth in his Thor costume fighting evil with his mighty hammer. Ok, now we’re just being silly. In all seriousness, Thor: Love and Thunder is the film that MCU fans have been waiting for. We finally get to see more of this hero who has long been integral to the Marvel Universe but hasn’t had his standalone movie yet.

The trailer gives us glimpses of the various themes from Norse mythology, iconic moments like Loki entering Odinsheim, and a hint at what’s up with Asgardian fashion.

What are some memorable quotes?

It was a three-day camping trip that turned into a full two years of filming. When Thor: Love and Thunder – The Movie We’ve Been Waiting For comes to Disney Plus on September 20, 2019, we’ll be seeing new and old favorite faces, epic CGI sequences, and (hopefully) feel-good resolutions.

How does it link with the previous movie?

As far as Marvel franchises go, Thor: Ragnarok (2017) is one of the more compelling and funniest entries to date. The movie was hilarious and featured a fast-paced comedy – which did not stop it from being an emotional film with deep themes.

The story also gave the other characters in the universe more time to shine. For example, Asgard is seen for what it’s worth for a shining moment in time instead of just being used as set dressing or serving merely to give Thor access to someone else’s vehicle or plane.

Who are some of the stars in this movie?

Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman star in this new Thor adventure. Hemsworth will reprise his role as Thor alongside Portman’s as Jane Foster and Thompson as the Valkyrie.

Together they will form a team of Marvel superheroes with returning favorites from other MCU films including Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Heimdall (Idris Elba), and Odin (Anthony Hopkins). The movie also stars Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Moonlight).

Where can you watch this?

For over 10 years, Marvel fans have been waiting for the continuation of the series. At long last, Love and Thunder will be premiering on November 6th, just in time to celebrate Disney Plus Day. The film is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame and stars Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Tessa Thompson as her ex-lover,

Valkyrie. Other notable characters include   Odinson and Loki Laufeyson (played by Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston respectively). The movie also marks Rachel House’s first major theatrical release after making a name for herself with memorable performances on shows like the Aussie comedy show Please Like Me, Tina Fey’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Home And Away.
